2019- Piano recital in Westminster Choir College, playing pieces by Bach, Beethoven, Glinka, Debussy
Hi everyone, I am a recent graduate from Westminster Choir College holding a master's degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy. I also have a bachelor's degree in music education. Although I've only been teaching piano for one more year, but I already have 20 more students with varied ages. I am fluent in Mandarin and English.
I really love teaching students piano because I can see their passion about music and piano. I always teach my students about proper style and technique and help them understand music better. Whether they want to play piano just because of their interest or because they want to be a concert pianist in the future, I would always teach my students in the most suitable method and work on their potential.
I have a master's degree in Piano performance and pedagogy and a bachelor's degree in music education. I have been playing piano for over 20 years.
Please contact me with any questions or to set up lessons. Thank you so much!
My teaching experience dates back to my college days. I have been teaching for over one year. I had one year intern in Westminster Conservatory and taught 7 students with varied ages. I also was an assistant of piano group class for one semester. Although I only teach for not a long time but I already have more than 20 students right now and i have very positive feedback. I really love teaching students piano because I hope they can find the magic of music world by learning piano from me. I want to teach them all what I know and pass my passion about music to them as well.
For young beginners, I prefer to use Alfred, piano adventure and Bastien method book. I also use piano tree to teach young kids as well. Once my students finish the fundamental study I will begin to introduce classical pieces and all other genres as well. Also I will provide two recitals every year to give students an opportunity to perform in front of their family and friends.
For adults beginners, I prefer to use Alfred for adult all in one. I really like this method because it has good layout and have great arrangement. Also it has a lot of familiar tunes. For advance adult students, I will provide them different repertoire to polish their skill and style.
I really love teaching because my mother is a piano teacher. I saw her teaching since I was very young. My mom is a very passionate teacher and her lesson was never boring. I can see the excitement from both of her and her students when she was teaching. When I become a piano teacher, I hope I can become someone like my mom who is always positive, passionate and enthusiastic but still very strict. I always tell my students that they are doing very good and having improvement. And I also encourage them to practice more at home and talk with their parents about their learning situation. But I always teach my students with proper style and technique. I hope all of them can actually learn something from me.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
OkAre you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
