Bachelor Degree: Berklee College of Music
I'm a very fun and motivated instructor who enjoys teaching students at all levels. I am a Berklee graduate, currently working on my Masters of Music Degree at University at Buffalo. I started playing drums when I was 6, as a percussionist for my elementary school's orchestra, and while I was playing concert percussion for the school's band, I picked up an interest for drum set when I was studying the different percussion instruments. I've played/toured with multiple bands in my life and have plenty of studio experiences while attending Berklee College of Music, and all of that will contribute to anyone wants to take lessons with me.
My teaching experience started while I was in high school, by that time I've already was in a somewhat successful local band and people started to contact me say they wanted to get into drumming. Started to teach that early on in my life really helps me to come up with a different approach to teaching than my peers, as I have more ways to make learning the instrument fun for my students and the teaching fun for myself! Students of all ages are welcome to hang out in my class and we can explore the magic of this beautiful instrument together!
Every student is different so I change my methods accordingly, but the most important thing is to have fun and make every student enjoy it. No matter what the student wants to learn, I will find the best method and style that will fit the individual. Want to work on the fundamentals? Technique? Different styles? Soloing? Playing in a band? Recording? I got you all covered. From "Stick Control", "Syncopation" to all kinds of different style play-alongs, the student will always be encouraged and we will have fun playing music.
Having fun really is the most important part of drumming or any other musical studies, students will feel relaxed and really having fun studying with me. No matter the age of the student, building the fundamentals is important. Besides that, I will incorporate anything that I find that are important to the progression of the students and what the students are interested in. If the student is here for a drum lesson, then that individual already has a passion for the instrument, and my job is to bring that passion out, even more, help the student progress and again, HAVE FUN!
