I'm a passionate and motivated piano teacher, as well as Music theory/history/aural skill teacher. I earned both my Bachelor and Master of Music degrees at Manhattan School of Music in piano performance. And I am currently pursuing my Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance at MSM as well. I have performed in many successful recitals in New York such as Merkin Concert Hall at Kaufmann Music Center, Minneapolis, Aspen, Brevard and also in Italy, and China as well. I am also very interested in performing contemporary music, such as piano pieces playing with tape, or piano pieces for amplified pianist, etc.
My teaching experience started back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons 6 years ago. I've taught piano/music theory/history/aural skills for many years, and my students had won many international piano competitions and earned music theory certificates. I have also taught private piano lessons and piano master class in Aspen Music Festival for P.A.L.S program, and was also invited as a guest artist to Kim International Piano Festival in Minneapolis, where I had private piano lessons and organized a music history/theory class. I am currently teaching group piano lessons and private piano lessons at Manhattan School of Music as a piano assistant teacher.
In my experience of working with children in the past, I am aware of the importance of positive role models in the life of a child. As a teaching assistant, I would be able to have a major impact on students’ lives in both an educational and social context. For young beginners, I will establish an overview of how music works both on the keyboard and scores from the basic elements. To make students get interest on music by using vivid imagination and words is my purpose. I will also let student have ability to read the music by their own, and train their independence to practice to learn a new thing. My goal is to let students understand music, develop their own personalities into the music.
Nothing would be more rewarding than seeing a student's accomplishment. I will teach each student in a different way based on their own strength then fix their weakness. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. My teaching style is energetic and to make it more fun.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
OkAre you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
