For beginners on drums and percussion, I start with basic snare studies and immediately apply those studies to drumset and bells as appropriate. For more experienced players, I offer more advanced literature on both instruments and demonstrate how create the various sounds and combinations. For beginning brass students, I start with basic buzzing techniques and immediately begin with low tone studies and learning note names and where the notes apprear on the staff. I am capable of teaching trumpet, french horn, trombone, baritone, euphonium and tuba as I have performance experience and have taken lessons on all these instruments.
My teaching style is upbeat, fun and fast paced. I like to give written notes for reference when I am not with the student as this serves as an awesome aid when practicing. If there are questions, I am always an email, text or phone call away. The assignments I give are realistic, goal oriented and based on the student's level of experience, talent or willingness to apply themselves to their instrumental study. This will vary from student to student and is based on schedule and other factors.
