Encouraging a regular practice schedule is a key point especially for younger students in progressing and gaining a passion for the instrument. I always want to put the needs of the student first. I want to teach according to what they need or want and make sure they understand what they are doing and why they are doing it. I like to play along with the students because I want them to hear what more experienced players sound like too. I believe it's important to be able to play on your own as well, but I played with my private teachers and it helped me so much to hear them and then copy what they were doing. Read More
