My method of teaching is that I always start from the theoretical part of every instrument or skill I teach because if they don’t have the background understanding they will be limited in their performances. Taking lessons with Damon Carlucci, I learned how to delve into genres for music knowledge. Here I also learned Jazz and what it meant to be a Jazz musician. Ever since then, I have been using what I have learned to see the notes I want to play on the fretboard and adapt it to whatever setting, feeling or group I am playing in. I began my formal education at Cornish School of Allied Arts in Seattle as Classical Cello major, moved to their Jazz Department as a Bassist and then to the University of Washington to complete my degree in Music Education.
