Hi! My name is Peter and I love to play, compose and teach music. In 2013, I graduated from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Certificate in Jazz Performance. And in 2014, I completed a Masters of Music in Jazz Trombone from Stony Brook University while studying with Ray Anderson. I have over 7 years of experience teaching students of all ages, and over 10 years of experience playing in symphonic orchestras, wind ensembles, chamber orchestras, big bands, and jazz combos. My teaching experience dates back to my days in college, as I began teaching in East Feliciana parish as a band director at the age of 22. I have now been teaching since then. I have made students college ready, able to receive scholarships, and be ready for any college program they choose. I am a fun, outgoing and passionate instructor who sets goals with the student and works with them to achieve them.  I have a very diverse background in performance and in teaching as well.  I most enjoy performing jazz, classical, and musical theater.  I have taught students as young as four years old, up through adult learners on various instruments and at various experience levels. I approach teaching in a very relaxed manner. If my students learn in a certain type of way I will differentiate my teaching style to accommodate them. I believe all students can learn and enjoy music, it is just a matter of finding the way that speaks to them the most. I do this by first seeing their experience level, asking where they are hoping to be, setting realistic goals, and by acknowledging their mile stones to keep their motivations high. Read More
