No matter the age or experience, I try to have a continuous dialogue between the student and myself about their progress and what direction they'd like to head in to make sure they are engaging with material that suits their needs and goals at the same time. As a dedicated orchestral musician, I have attended festivals around United states including Tanglewood Music Center, Music Academy of West, and many others. I have 17 years of teaching experience starting while I was still in graduate school. My main focus is having students practice regularly, like the piece they are playing, and gain a passion for their instrument. I always play with my students in order for them to gain experience in chamber music as well as to make sure they know their parts well. I studied at Illinois State University, and am currently a cellist in the Illinois Valley Symphony Orchestra.
