Although I started out on the piano at eight, I switched to tenor sax at the age of 13 on the advice of my doctor, who suggested that playing this horn would help cure me of asthma. I later studied sax with Gerry Bergonzi. I truly believe that sheet music, is one of the biggest hurdles of music education, and drives up the cost. Students with my studio, will not be required to buy any music (though they can if they want to!). Based on the fundamental teaching of Suzuki, Paul Roland, and the sensibilities of modern music, my pedagogy features composers from all eras.
