Teaching is a huge responsibilty that I do not take light heartedly. If we as teachers do a suburd job, it will have a huge effect on a students over all life. Musical education teaches us about the mind and body and balance between the two. It teaches us logic, problem solving, and creative thinking in balance with eachother. While I think its important to have a solid classical background, if a student happens to be passionate about another genre of music, I want to help them thrive in what they love. While my experience has been mostly classical, I also have experience in pop music, jazz, musical theater, and mariachi music. With adult beginner students, I find that it is often most effective to take a less structured approach, and use a more repertoire based learning experience. Read More
