I'm very big on motivation. I tell my students from day one how great there doing and give them something to work towards. For example if I have a guitar student that really wants to be a lead guitarist I will play the solo of one of there favorite songs and teach them a small part of it or all of it if they are at an advanced level. The love of music develops differently in each person. Because I have found that most "creatives" are fairly emotionally driven, I believe it is of the utmost importance to retain a sense of encouragement at every milestone no matter how small. I like to stay positive, helpful, and personal. I am passionate about music and I play at least 7 instruments. I love alot of international music styles as well as American styles (soft rock, rock, hard rock, progressive metal, hip hop reggae, etc.). My music degree is from Auburn University Montgomery and I have done live performances within a band, ensemble, and on my own. I started teaching around the summer of 2013. My first pupils were children that were active members at my old church. They were interested primarily in acoustic guitar, I discovered how wonderful it made me feel to see their faces "light up" when they learned their first chord.
