Sami brings over 14 years of musical experience to Musika students. Her musical journey has taken her from coast to coast from the oldest theatre in America, Walnut Street Theatre in historic Philadelphia, to the pursuit of a Vocal Performance/Independent Artist Degree at Musician’s Institute in Hollywood, CA. Her love of singing has given her the privilege to sing many different genres of music including musical theater, classical, rock, pop and metal. She has had the opportunity to sing the National Anthem at the professional stadiums of the NY Mets, the Philadelphia Eagles and for the US Open at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in NY.
Sami has an innate ability to recognize her student’s strengths and weaknesses in their vocal abilities to help them achieve their full potential with the proper vocal technique. Her strong background in singing and acting professionally offers her students an edge when conquering stage performance skills. She encourages her students to recognize their gift, to be creative with their voices and challenges them artistically. Sami is passionate about sharing her experience and knowledge in all genres of music to inspire other artists.
Ive now been teaching in person and online for several years since achieving my degree. I’ve taught all different ages from 5 year olds to adults in there 70’s. I love to teach my students the in’s and out’s of singing. When taking lessons with me you can expect to learn, music theory, simple keyboard training, sight singing, rhythm reading, correct posture and mic technique, proper warmups for your voice in particular. We even work on expanding your range. I push my students to always practice and come prepared with questions and ideas on what they want to learn next.
When first meeting a student, I like to start by getting to know them. I usually ask a series of simple day to day questions along with some music related questions. Be prepared to answer some of the the following, “what is your favorite band/singer” and “why”, “what are your goals for our lessons together” , and “what instruments do you play or want to learn” . After getting to know the student on a first name basis, we will go through a basic warmup and posture review. Then, I like for the student to come with a song they would like to learn or a specific goal.
I personally like to keep a record of what my student likes during the beginning of our lessons together and see how things progress and change. I love to work one on one with a student to find their own style and voice. It’s important that the student gets time to express themselves in a way they don’t on a normal day. I’d like to push my students to practice and keep focusing on coming in with goals. I think my favorite part about teaching is learning from the student as well. It’s very inspiring to see a student’s progress and growth.
Sami is a great coach who is very kind and patient. I like her teaching style because she combines exercises and your choice of songs to ensure the lessons are focused on the style you want to learn. She is clearly very knowledgeable and experienced when it comes to vocals and is great to learn from.
Sami has been working with my 12 year old Daughter with singing lessons and is doing an amazing job with her. My Daughter is so comfortable with her and can’t wait for each class she has. Sami is so positive and uplifting, which really boosts my Daughters confidence. She also keeps me informed of how the lessons go and what my Daughter may need to work on. She is awesome!
My 6.5 year old daughter has been taking virtual lessons with Sami and it has been great for her. She is very comfortable with Sami and is learning about voice and annunciation and enjoys her time spent with Sami.
Sami is a great teacher for my daughter. She is patient and friendly. She understands what needs to be done and completed in a timely matter.
Worked with Sam on a couple occasions. Left every lesson with more confidence with my vocals, and insight into what I should be working on. My personal style was Hip-Hop/RnB, and she accomated the lessons perfectly for what I was looking for in improving my music. Would highly recommend!
Sami has been great with my daughter. She also gives me constant feedback on what she is doing well in and areas of improvement. My daughter looks forward to these lessons with her.
Sami has been amazing with my daughter Miranda. She is really shy and insecure about her singing and Sami is teaching her to be more confident. Miranda loves Tuesdays with Sami and is always excited about learning more and expanding her range. I love listening to their lessons although Miranda tells me to go in the other room..Sami has been so patient with her and that makes me very happy with given the chance for Sami to be Miranda's trainer. We wouldn't want anyone else! Thank you all so much!
Sami is amazing! She is helping my daughter gain more vocal control and encouraging her to work on her sound. I love the enthusiasm and dedication she brings and I can't recommend her enough!
Sami taught me in person at a local shop, and we hit it off right away with an understanding of what I was interested in singing (which we also had similar taste in) and what I had to improve on. She's very relaxed in her demeanor, which means she can express how her well-tested methods can help you during the lesson, in your own practice sessions, and live. Creating a genuine encouraging teacher-student relationship is what Sami does best.
She's a very laidback and chill instructor I would say. Really patient and has a lot of good instruction for beginner singers. There was a bunch of little things that I couldn't really get that she was able to help explain to me. Still have a very long way to go, but it's a bit less daunting with having her as an instructor.
Sami is a personable and constructive voice teacher. I'm very happy that I have been paired up with her to learn more about my voice and singing. I would recommend her to any new student. She is very patient and encouraging.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
