Overview:
I am a native Spanish speaker, born and raised along the U.S.–Mexico border, and fully bilingual in English and Spanish, and have been teaching music since 2014. Music has always been an essential part of my life, and I feel grateful to share that passion with students of all ages and backgrounds.

Throughout my career, I have taught private lessons as well as courses in Singing, Music Theory, Choral Conducting and Music Technology. My greatest passion is vocal music, especially sacred music, to which I have dedicated much of my career as a singer, choir director, and educator. I also enjoy art songs, choral music, symphonic rock, popular music, and world music.

My online studio welcomes students of all ages and experience levels, whether they are learning for personal enjoyment, academic goals, church ministry, or professional development. I believe music has the power to inspire, bring people together, and enrich lives, and I am honored to help others discover and develop their musical potential.

METHODS USED
My teaching philosophy is centered on helping every student build strong musical skills while developing confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of music. Because every student learns differently, I create personalized lesson plans based on each student's age, experience, goals, learning style, and musical interests.

Rather than following a single teaching method, I draw from a variety of respected music education approaches, including Orff Schulwerk, Kodály, Dalcroze Eurhythmics, and other contemporary pedagogical practices. I select the techniques that best fit each student, creating a customized learning experience that is engaging, practical, and effective.

As an educator with a Master's Degree in Educational Technology, I integrate technology to enrich learning and develop my own instructional materials, including lesson guides, practice trackers, infographics, digital worksheets, recordings, assessments, and other resources that help students practice independently and make steady progress between lessons.

Whether students are learning for personal enjoyment, academic success, church ministry, auditions, or professional development, my goal is to provide inspiring, well-structured lessons that foster musical growth, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for music.
LESSON STYLE
I believe learning music should be both rewarding and enjoyable. My goal is to create a positive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and celebrating their progress. I strive to make every lesson engaging, interactive, and tailored to each student's individual learning style and pace.

I teach exclusively online because I believe technology is a powerful tool for learning music when used effectively. Through interactive lessons, high-quality digital resources, and personalized guidance, I help students stay connected, motivated, and engaged wherever they are.

I am a patient and supportive teacher who genuinely enjoys helping students discover their musical potential. I celebrate every achievement, no matter how small, and encourage consistent progress through clear goals, constructive feedback, and practical exercises.

Above all, I want my students to enjoy making music. Whether they are beginners or experienced musicians, I hope each lesson leaves them feeling more confident, inspired, and excited to continue learning. Watching my students grow in both skill and confidence is one of the most rewarding parts of being a teacher.

I'm a beginner singer and Ms. Maria has made the experience great! The lessons are fun and I do learn a lot! I'm very grateful for her! Affordable price for me being in school and all too! I've been with her just almost two months now and I really do notice a difference in my voice! And it's awesome how I'm able to choose my own song to practice too! Love it!

These lessons have helped me so much, especially with Ms. Maria. She is an amazing teacher who is truly wonderful to learn from. She shares her knowledge and the valuable lessons she learned when she first started singing, which has been incredibly encouraging and helpful. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from her. I've learned so much. Thank you!!

Maria has been a wonderful instructor for my 8 year old daughter - my daughter loves her classes and always looks forward to Mondays because of it. Maria's website with lessons is really great for studying outside of routine classes. Best of all, my daughter loves Maria's personality and wishes she could invite her to school performances - unfortunately we live some 2K miles apart :)
