Overview:
I am a recent college graduate who specializes in classical saxophone, but has experience in all genres including jazz and rock. I have taught private lessons for several years, and my students have achieved the highest honors at regional and state festivals. Recently, I performed as featured soloist with the Minot Symphony Orchestra, playing Jaques Ibert's Concertino da Camera. During my collegiate career I traveled and performed internationally, and sought out opportunities to study under some of the world's most renowned saxophonists, including Eugene Rousseau, Marie-Bernadette Charrier, and Otis Murphy. One of my proudest achievements was the completion of my senior honors thesis, The Impact of the William Albright Saxophone Sonata,
EXPERIENCE
I began teaching private lessons in my second year of college, and have maintained a studio ever since! What I enjoy most about my teaching is seeing a passion for the saxophone and music arise and blossom. I use multiple activities in each lesson to keep my instruction fresh, fun, and engaging. I happily facilitate performing opportunities for eager students, including school festivals, church services and activities, nursing homes, and other public venues. All of my students develop a unique and beautiful sound on their instrument, while also developing facility to play difficult passages. This all happens alongside the student cultivating a meaningful interpretation of the music they are studying.
METHODS USED
While I find most beginning band method books to be effective, I often integrate exercises from saxophone-specific texts, such as: Larry Teal's Saxophonists Workbooks, Rubank Method books of all levels, and for more advanced students Rascher's Top Tones and Londeix's Le Detache. I possess a wide knowledge of repertoire across genres, and cater to students' individual interests. While I foster technical development, I place my main emphasis on the students' enjoyment of the music they are performing, and believe that at every age and skill level one can perform confidently given the appropriate repertoire. In this way, my students are intrinsically motivated to practice.
LESSON STYLE
I like to structure my lessons to cover three main areas of saxophone playing: tone development, fundamental technique, and musical interpretation through repertoire. I like to get to know my students, and in this way create an individualized learning plan based on their needs and interests. I believe it is important to create a learning environment where the student succeeds and enjoys making music. As a result, my students become leaders in their school bands and develop confidence that can be applied to all areas of life.

I wish there was another star available to set her apart from other instructors. I noticed a difference in my daughter all around after the first lesson my daughter had more passion, more love, more desire to learn. We went to Lindsey for must of been a year or so. I noticed the difference after each lesson. Its a bonus that she's super friendly and someone my daughter can emulate. We went to one of her concerts at the college and were blown away with her skill and talent. My daughter plans to be on that stage some day and I do believe Lindsey is a big part of that passion and desire. Feel free to get ahold of me and I can make a video of my daughters talent which is greatly due to this amazing instructor.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
