ABOUT
Degrees / Training / Special Info:

Vocational Degree, Musicians Institute, BIT 1994 Private Study with Putter Smith, Steve Bailey, Todd Johnson, Jeff Berlin, George Lopez, Bob Magnusson, Dale Titus, and others at BIT (MI) 1994. I have performed on bass and guitar, in 9 countries, and have made friends for life, along the way.

I am looking for students of any level for bass guitar, guitar, and music theory study . I have experience with and am willing to teach music students, aged 10 and above.

I prefer to focus on one thing at a time to not bombard the student. I like to help fascilitate a sense of accomplishment in the student, and impart that playing music, is fun, and a gift to be able to get to do. Playing music with friends, is an even greater gift, and that is what it is all about to me.

I can help expedite the formation of  the student's ability to feel comfortable enough be able to be in ensemble situations, and performing in front of an audience, as well.

1994 Honors Eligibily Graduate at BIT

Overview:
I am an enthusiastic and patient instructor. My primary goal is to provide a positive musical experince for my students while developing and advancing their abilities to speak a musical language. I started playing electric guitar in the mid 80's. By 1987, electric bass became my primary instrument. I am forever grateful that it turned out that way as it quickly became apparent that more bass players were needed than guitarists, by at least five to one ratio. This allowed me more friends to play music with, and more opportunities, as well, including performance, in 11 countries.
EXPERIENCE
My private teaching experience dates back to 1997 in Ventura County, California. This was after I finished up my studies at Musicians Institute, in Hollywood, California. My Online teaching, via Skype, dates back to 2013. I have taught bass, and guitar, to students as young as five and those that exceed my age, as well. ALL are welcome. I encourage students to find and embrace their original composition skills. Also, taking advantage of modern technology and home music engineering techniques, to further along their creativity and musical output.
METHODS USED
For all of my students, beginner to advanced, my methods will vary to cater to and help mold the musical needs, and desires, of each, unique indivdual. I prefer not to use the same methods, or books, until I meet the student, and determine which would be the most comfortable yet effective way to proceed. I like to find the best ways for my students to find a path of learning without feeling discouraged and overwhelmed. We are here to have fun I say.
LESSON STYLE
My goal is to see a student achieve the deft balance of experiencing joy with music while being serious and dedicated to a craft. I emphasize what music is to me, at the root of it : A means of happiness for myself and others, through positive interactions with other musicians, who are most often, friends. I like my students to cultivate a great musical vocabulary, to give them more opportunities, for fun, positive,  fulfilling and prosperous musical experiences

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
