Overview:
Singing and music performance has been a lifelong passion of mine, and being able to provide the tools to make singing healthy and fun makes my profession one of great joy! I graduated from Southwestern University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocal Performance, and taught singing, musical theatre and piano full time while performing part-time. In 2018, I graduated with a Masters in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy (the science of teaching) from Texas State University. I have had the opportunity to perform internationally in operas, young artist programs, concerts, musicals and chorales. I have taught all ages, experience levels and styles of singers in my studio - ages 7 and up and from classical to punk rock! I have been teaching piano for 6 years, and I love giving my students the tools they need to read music, accompany themselves, or write their own music!
EXPERIENCE
I started teaching voice part-time in college, and once I graduated took on a full time position teaching privately in my home studio, student’s homes, and in schools in Round Rock. Implementing the motivation and lesson plan to practice regularly is an important skill that can be learned while still having fun. I provide students the tools to help overcome stage fright, gain confidence, integrate performance technique, and feel better about singing while learning their favorite music! Students of mine have made the All-Region choir, All District auditions, choir solos, musical roles, and sang the national anthem for organizations. During my master's in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy I took classes specifically designed for teaching private voice lessons.
METHODS USED
Each lesson is designed specifically with the students’ abilities and challenges in mind as well. For young or beginning voice students, I like to begin with a solid foundation of intonation, body alignment, sight reading, and breath support using beginning level folk songs. The repertoire I choose is specific to each student's short-term goal and stylistic preference. For intermediate students, I focus on tone, coloration, vocal agility, diction, musicality, dynamics and performance anxiety. I am a firm believer in support and encouragement from family, and I insist that parents/guardians of high school students and younger stay informed with what their child is working on. The more supportive their environment, the more growth they experience! For piano students, I love to utilize Faber's Piano Adventures books and sprinkle in popular repertoire once the basics are covered.
LESSON STYLE
I love helping my students set short- and long-term goals for themselves and instilling a practice log to achieve those goals! Each voice student has different goals for themselves - whether it's gaining the confidence to sing in their church choir or pave their path to stardom, I take these goals into account each moment of our time together. I use visual learning, kinesthetic learning techniques, and solfege as learning tools, so it’s a more hands-on environment. I encourage open and honest communication with my student (and their parents, if they’re children) to cater to their interests and goals!

Keeley Is an excellent teacher. She has shown me so many things I didn’t know and I thought I knew a lot. I see changes in my voice every week. I would recommend her highly.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
