Music has always been at the center of my life and has given me so much. My saxophone teacher in high school was an inspiration to me and propelled me into music in college. In college I learned more and more about classical saxophone, and it became my dream to make that my living. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Commercial Music from Florida State University, then continued my education locally at Florida International University to earn my Master of Music degree in Saxophone Performance.
During my time at FIU I was a Teaching Assistant with the FIU Marching Band. There I assisted in the direction and teaching of the marching band students, and attended all performances. For the past 5 years or so I have been teaching private saxophone students as well. My experience with saxophone consists of classical pedagogy. Classical saxophone is a beautiful and forgotten art that I wish to share with my students.
I have experience with all 4 main voices of saxophone. I also maintain an ever increasing list of method books, etude books, solos, and other repertoire for reference.
Depending on the level and age of the student I create an individualized curriculum for them. All of my lesson plans include various areas of focus to enhance not only the student's technical ability but musical ability as well.
I set goals for each lesson and help the student in any way I can to help them achieve their goals. I personally invest myself in the development of my students.
