I am a young musician who plays multiple instruments including drums, piano, bass guitar, guitar, and vocals. I have been studying drums for the last 10 years. My parents run a music school out of Santa Rosa Beach Florida. I have always been surrounded by music and students. I was part of the South Walton High School band for 6 years, (I joined in 7th grade) I was Drum Line Captain for 3 of those years and after I graduated I was offered a position as Drum Line Instructor. I was the South Walton High School Band Drum Instructor for 2 years. I have competed in FMBC, MPA solo and ensemble competitions, Little Big Horn Marching Competition, and more. I desire the opportunity to teach music more than anything else in life. I want to share everything I've learned over the years with the hope that it will give others the same happiness and confidence it has given me.
My teaching experience is not as extensive as some other musicians, but I do have a lot of knowledge to share. I taught as a Drum Line Instructor for 2 years at South Walton High School. I have also had a few private lessons taught out of my house when I lived with my parents.
I believe that if a student wants to learn music, they will. A big part of learning how to play the drums is patience and learning to control the various parts of your body. One of my main philosophies is, "If you can't play it slow, you can't play it fast. If you can't play it quietly, you can't play it loud. If you can't play one drum very well, what makes you think you can play 4?" However, I also believe that playing music should be fun, as the word "play" implies.
As I have learned, repetition is a large part of success when it comes to learning any musical instrument. Every lesson will include a portion of warm-ups that will be about the same every time, with the idea that they will become easier every time. The rest of the lesson will depend on what the student is personally interested in learning. For example: drum kit (in various styles), marching snare, concert snare, reading music, sight reading, solo pieces, favorite songs, etc.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
