Hello I'm Joshua! I'm a passionate music enthusiast that loves sharing my love for music and knowledge on bass. In 2020 I graduated from Lake Sumter State College with my associate's degree and am working on another degree at University of Central Florida. I've performed in many types of venues and in front of varying sizes of audience from doing small coffee shop gigs to being in Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana in front of thousands of people. I hope I can be a good mentor for you!!!
My experience with performing music dates back 11 years ago when I was learning music for the first time, Since then my performance experience has been through all of middle/ high school into my adult life with the most notable being in the marching arts with the world class Infinity Percussion going from 2019-2023. For teaching experience I have taught a couple of students in passing through my life but in full transparency this is my first legitimate teaching job so I provide the best experience!
My method for teaching is and will probably always be a case by case basis for the student on what they want to learn/ where they are skill wise on the instrument. For example someone that is new to bass guitar I would start with the pure basics about describes the instrument layout and how to produce pleasant noise from the bass guitar. Where with someone with experience I would see what they need to work on and go from there. Either way with the longer I have with a student the more we will work through how to improve both at the instrument and in the music business in general.
For my teaching style I can only go on my previous lessons where I exhibit a very relaxed and safe learning environment for students by making the lesson more of a constant learning experience rather than other teacher that I have had in the past that make it more of a lecture. My teaching style will also have me playing bass alongside the student to better help them understand the points/ ideas that I want to get across. I also will provide learning via sheet music and tabs for which ever notation the student prefers to read.
