Diploma (Teacher training program) Simply Music – Sacramento, CA Diploma (Adult Extension Division) Music Conservatory of San Francisco – San Francisco CA Diploma (Basics of music education) Private Music Instruction - Mexico
I am originally from Guanajuato, Mexico and in my last year of high school, I decided to take private piano lessons with a local teacher and it was during this time period that I learned classical pieces by Beethoven and Mozart. I also took music notation and I tried a hand at composing, discovering a new way to communicate in terms of music. After moving to the USA, I resume my music education, learning new concepts on classical, blues and pop styles, as well as chord progression and accompaniment pieces. After a year and after completing the teacher training program, I started to teach piano from my home studio.During this time, I took upon myself two more years of intense composition study and experimenting with some of the secrets of this art, which now has become one of my passion. In 2007 I enrolled in a music program at the Music Conservatory of San Francisco, where I learned and expanded my knowledge on technique, performing, and music ensembles.
For ten years, I have been teaching successfully from my home studio, teaching students of all ages and with different music backgrounds. In 2015 I joined The J St Orchestra in Sacramento, CA playing the cello under the direction of Krystyna Taylor. This year also, I've had the oportunity to partner with the Sacramento Performing Arts Conservatory to teach a music program in an elementary school in Elk Grove,CA
I have written and released my own piano series which I use for beginner and intermediate students of all ages. My method introduces students to vocabulary of rhythm, pitch, music symbols and ensembles.
I am a strong believer of traditional teaching methods, however, I have learn that we all learn in different ways, so I let my students discover music by teaching them how to relate to the piano first, after they become familiar with the instrument by playing easy but wonderful melodies I start with the process of teaching music notation, scales, chords, analyzing songs, music history, exercises.I teach all ages, I am very patient and supportive, never pushy but firm with my students goals.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
