Hello! My name is Isabella S. I am a first year graduate student at The University of South Carolina where I am studying Theatre Education. I just graduated with a BFA in Acting and minor(s) Educational Studies and Musical Theatre. I’ve had the pleasure of directing and acting both at an educational level and at a professional level. While my focus is primarily in musical theatre, I have also had training in classical voice, opera, acting, and writing. These are all things we can work on during lessons. I look forward to meeting you!
I began formally teaching at the end of 2019. However, I’ve been helping my fellow classmates’ polish and pick pieces for as long as I can remember. I look forward to learning with and from you as we begin lessons! I’m always looking to bringing on new students and new songs. I really want you or your child to feel that they have stake in their own learning while working with me. While I hope to primarily focus on singing and vocal technique, we can also dive into songwriting and acting during lessons.
When we are beginning lessons, I’ll usually start with accessing your specific goals. Then I’ll ask you to sing your favorite song to sing for me just so I can get to know your voice. Following that, I’ll either select a couple options that I think would be fitting for you or if there’s a piece of rep. you’re eager to work on, we’ll dive in with that! If you have an audition or performance that comes up during lessons, we can pause what we are working on and jump in on that. I want you or your child to feel that they have some creative control over what we cover. Lessons will vary from student to student; however, they’ll always remain fun, engaging, and informative!
I find myself learning so much from my students everyday. I love assist in setting goals in my students and doing our best to reach toward that accomplishment. There’s nothing more exciting for me than seeing my student feel proud of themselves. Singing is a vulnerable yet powerful skill. It takes bravery to find your individual sound! I look forward to seeing you or your child be brave and discover their own! “If you become a teacher, by your pupils you’ll be taught.” -Oscar Hammerstein II
Isabella is so knowledgeable! I’ve gotten advice from her as a peer, worked alongside her in shows, and had her as a director for a show as well. She is a wonderful teacher, incredibly patient, and always makes sure to answer questions thoroughly and make sure her students understand and are truly learning/absorbing information. Anyone would be lucky to have her as a teacher!
Isabella is the best vocal teacher I’ve ever had! It took me so long to find one that made me feel comfortable and like my talent was being invested in. I took her lessons online and it felt like I was getting just as much out of it as in person. I cannot recommend her enough!!
If I could rate 10 stars I would!! Isabella was so helpful during my beginner lessons. She was very experienced with both the mechanics and understanding of my voice, as well as having the skills on how to be an effective teacher. She is my favorite voice teacher I’ve ever had!
Miss Isabella has been a great voice teacher and mentor over the past 7 years I've known her! She's extremely encouraging and has great technical skills to back up her teachings. I'm sure anyone who works with her will improve. Highly recommend!
Isabella is so incredibly sweet and kind!! She creates this welcoming and calming environment for everyone - I felt so comfortable around her immediately. She improves your abilities as well as your confidence, and I recommend her to everyone I know.
