Awards:

I co-lead a world renowned band called R*time. We have recorded three internationally acclaimed CDs, and toured in North and South America, as well as Europe. I have performed with my band and other groups in some of the worlds most prestigious venues and festivals all over the world, including: 1994 - first CD as a leader released 2009 - first CD as a co-leader released 2009 - featured in the Berlin Jazz Festival among many others 2012 - 2nd CD as aco- leader released on a major label 2013 - featured in Jazz festivals in Germany and the Balkans 2014 - featured in Jazz Festivals in Chicago, Philadelphia and Germany Throughout the years I have recorded over twenty Cd's with various ensembles on independent and major labels. I ran my own drum school in Israel called Metronome and later taught at the rhythm school in Paris France.

Overview:
I was born in Israel, spending my teens in Brazil, and my 20’s in Paris France, where I studies with Kenny Clark among others. In 1996 I moved to the US where I received an artist Visa, and later a green card and citizenship. I haven been living in NJ for the past decade, and I draw my musical inspiration from the corners of the world. Throughout the years I worked extensively with Brazilian and African bands, studied Carnatic drumming, and played with many Jazz groups around Europe and the US. In NYC I have played and recorded with many great musicians, including Rasul Siddik, Avram Fefer, Michael Attias, Adam Lane, and more recently with Jean Paul Bourelly, Mark Peterson, Burton Greene and Jon Sass. My collaboration with Reut Regev spans over a decade long, and throughout the years we have worked intensively in Duo, Trio, Quartet and Quintet formats, playing original compositions and covers. Their debut recording together "This is R*time", as well as their sophomore release "exploring the vibe" on Enja records, have received widespread international acclaim, and their group R*time has been touring Europe and north America since the first release in 2009, playing Festivals such as the Berlin Jazz Festival, Belgrade Jazz Festival, Strasbourg, Halifax, and Rudolstadt folk festival among many others.
EXPERIENCE
Teaching has always been an important part of my life along side my recording and performing career. I love teaching and find it inspiring . I started teaching at the age of twenty at my home in Israel and later along side my very first teacher David Rich we opened a drum school called Metronome. Over the years I gained much experience and developed teaching techniques that are both entertaining and serious at the same time. I continued teaching in France where I taught privately and at the "Rhythm School" studio. I am truly passionate about teaching not only because I love sharing my knowledge with my students. It also inspires me as a musician and I learn so much from my students and the teaching process . Three of my past students have become successful recognized drummers and I consider this as one of my proudest achievements of my teaching career.
METHODS USED
My methods are serious but fun as well I love sharing my excitement of the drums and music in general with my students. I enjoy working with everyone at any age from beginners to very advanced . My youngest student was four years old. Focusing on developing the students personal style is important to me and I always leave lots of room for my students personal goals and ambitions . I am fluent at teaching techniques, coordination, reading and grooves. I love helping my students prepare for auditions, concerts and recordings .
LESSON STYLE
I am extremely patient and very serious about what I do. It is important for me to have my students enjoy the process . Focusing on developing my students personal style is important to me and I always leave lots of room for my students personal goals, requests and ambitions . I am great with techniques, coordination reading and grooves. Also, I can teach how to work with bass players as a rhythm section, and also how to interact with horns, strings and singers I encourage daily practice as the most important means to achieve your musical goals.
