Overview:
I began a love of teaching when I was given a huge responsibility to design, develop, and integrate a curriculum with a school of 700 students ages 5-12 years.  In this ongoing program of enrichment, I was a co-teacher with a staff of 30 instructors whereas I worked with and created diversity for a multicultural group of multi-tiered learners.  From the challenged to the gifted, from the rich to poverty, I found talent.  This spark that was in each and every child no matter their background, ethnicity, or environment was discovered in my program over and over again.  Each day was new in the creative expression of my students whose love for the art gave me my direction and personal growth as a teacher.
EXPERIENCE
My teaching experience includes teaching 30 classes a week to ages 5-12 students and coordinating school-wide events for programs to include each grade level.  I have also worked with professional theatre groups who present talented performers who inspire children for a career in the arts.  I have worked with choral groups who perform community wide, and for Art Festivals. I have developed and instructed a piano enrichment group to gifted students and have coordinated season concerts for family to enjoy the performances of my students. My performance experience includes being chosen to sing with the University of Florida Symphony many classical pieces that were performed in concert. I have studied voice pedagogy, musical theatre and music history.  I have written, performed and professionally recorded original music.  I have a voice range of 4 octaves and can sing all styles of music from jazz to opera.  I have been commissioned to sing in many sacred venues.  Of recent, I performed at the Basilica of San Marco, Florida, where I sang “Ave Maria” to 300 people during a mass. Talents should be shared, but not controlled in their expressions.  I encourage all students to find their niche in the world of music which is a universal language.
METHODS USED
My method is to empower the young to find their creative and expressive talent through singing, dancing, instruments and theatre. I use innovative techniques with interactive technologies combined with the piano in performance settings.  I give students a keen awareness of music theory through piano lessons, workshops and recitals.  I inspire students to succeed in academics by using music as a focus in binaural brain exposure (the Mozart Effect) that influences a student's education for lifelong learning.
LESSON STYLE
POSITIVITY!  Each child has a right to a strong music education and should never be limited by the amount of time they are allowed each week.  I instill motivation and innovative educational approaches to incorporate cooperative problem solving. I enjoy combining several goals and objectives within the framework of a lesson and I think on my feet!  I enjoy including parents and will invite their support for their child and the art community.  I carry with me high standards of personal integrity that I expect my students to also uphold within their passion for music.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
