BM, Berklee College of Music, Drumset Performance
2007 - Vic Firth Scholarship
In 2007, I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a B.M. degree in Drumset Performance. In August 2013, I was hired as the drummer for internationally touring Jamtronica act "Conspirator" ( a side project of The Disco Biscuits). I love to teach and learn!
My teaching experience dates back to my years in high school as I began teaching private lessons part time in students homes or at the school. For the last 13 years I have been consistently teaching students either in my home or out of my studio. I have a very lay back approach and tailor create my lessons for the individual students needs. I have taught at the Berklee College of Music 5 week program as well as the New School in Manhattan.
For beginning students who are children, I typically like to start with a "call and response/listen and play" approach that involves me playing short rhythmic ideas and having the student play them back. It keeps the student engaged and having fun and leaves them wanting to play the instrument. I strongly believe in recreational lessons for the young beginning student! I then do more "by the book" instruction as the student matures and becomes more interested in the inner workings of drumming and music. For adults, I really make it a point to zone in on the students musical interests, and then guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun. No matter what level you are or what level you are trying to reach, I will help you get there!
I'm a very friendly, lay-back, results driven instructor who loves to help my students progress at their own pace. Every student has their own unique set of goals and every student learns in their own way. As your instructor, I'm here to cater to your needs and help build your confidence as a great musician. Beginner students often begin to play beats for the first time ever within their first lesson with me. If you're struggling with any aspect of your playing whether you are just beginning or have been playing for years, I will guide you to success! I will give you all the fundamentals that you will need to form a strong foundation in your playing while making it an enjoyable experience.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
