Hi! I’m Georgios T, a private classical guitar teacher with over 20 years of experience, and I truly love what I do. Teaching guitar isn’t just my job — it’s my passion. I enjoy helping students discover their own musical voice, build confidence, and feel proud of every step they take. My lessons are relaxed, encouraging, and tailored to each student’s personal goals. Whether you’re a complete beginner or returning to the instrument, I’m here to support you, inspire you, and share the joy of making music.
My teaching experience spans over 20 years, and throughout that time I have focused on providing high-quality private classical guitar instruction. Working one-on-one with students has allowed me to tailor each lesson to their individual goals, learning style, and pace, creating an environment where they can grow confidently and enjoy the learning process. I emphasize a strong technical foundation, musical expression, and healthy practice habits, ensuring students develop both skill and artistry. I introduce a variety of classical and contemporary repertoire to keep lessons engaging and to help students discover pieces that inspire them. Whether students are preparing for recitals, auditions, or simply learning for personal enjoyment, I guide them step-by-step and celebrate their achievements along the way. After over two decades of teaching privately, I remain passionate about helping students gain confidence, overcome challenges, and build a lifelong connection to music.
In my classical guitar teaching, I take a highly individualized and structured approach, tailored to the student’s age, experience, and goals. For beginners, I focus on establishing a solid foundation in technique, reading, and musical understanding. This includes proper hand positioning, finger independence, and basic posture, often using exercises from Aaron Shearer’s Classic Guitar Technique and early studies by Carcassi and Sor. I supplement these with simple repertoire to develop both reading skills and musicality. For intermediate and advanced students, I integrate technical exercises (scales, arpeggios, and slurs), sight-reading practice, and stylistically varied repertoire—from Baroque to Romantic to contemporary works. I emphasize tone production, phrasing, and expressive interpretation, drawing from the traditions of Segovia, Tarrega, and Villa-Lobos. I also create custom lesson plans tailored to each student’s progress and interests. For children, I incorporate games and familiar tunes to maintain engagement while reinforcing fundamentals. For adults, I focus on repertoire they find inspiring, ensuring lessons remain motivating and enjoyable. Across all levels, I encourage disciplined practice habits, careful listening, and self-reflection, helping students develop both technical skill and a lifelong appreciation for the instrument.
I believe that learning classical guitar should be both inspiring and fun! I strive to create a positive, encouraging environment where students feel excited to explore the instrument and express themselves through music. I tailor each lesson to the student’s individual interests, goals, and pace, whether they are a child, teen, or adult. I love helping students fall in love with the guitar as I have. I focus not only on technique and repertoire but also on cultivating creativity, musical expression, and confidence. Celebrating small accomplishments along the way is a key part of my approach, as it motivates students and reinforces their progress. I aim to make each lesson engaging, dynamic, and full of discovery, so that learning the guitar becomes a joyful journey rather than a task.
