ABOUT
Degrees / Training / Special Info:
Master Degree: California Baptist University, Bachelor Degree: California Baptist University
Overview:

My primary desire for teaching piano is to make a positive impact on children as individuals. In the spring of 2022, I received my Master of Music diploma with a Concentration in Music Education from California Baptist University. I grew up in Veszprém, Hungary, where I started playing the piano at age 7. In 2010 I began her studies at Csermák Antal Music School in Veszprém, where I took lessons from jazz pianist and composer Orsolya Lakatos. I attended Dohnányi Ernő Music Conservatory, Veszprém from 2014 to 2016. In 2016 I moved to Riverside, California where I started my studies at California Baptist University.

EXPERIENCE

The first time I had the opportunity to mentor students was in my sophomore year of college in 2017. As a piano tutor at California Baptist University, I was helping beginner piano students to prepare for piano proficiency exams. I became a Teaching Assistant in the spring of 2021, where I assisted my piano professor in preparing for classes and lessons. I started teaching my own private students online and in person in the summer of 2021. I have taught students between the ages of 6 and 17, individually and in a group setting.

METHODS USED

After assessing the student's age and experience we select a method book or repertoire. I typically suggest the Alfred books for young students. I aim to introduce my students to a variety of repertoire, (from baroque to modern music) but I also keep their goals and interests in mind. I consider music theory, ear training, music reading, and creative music-making just as essential as learning repertoire, therefore I strive to incorporate them in each lesson. Besides piano, I offer guidance in composition and music technology for students that are interested in these areas.

LESSON STYLE

It is of utmost importance that my students enjoy their lessons. I enable my students to express themselves and allow time to explore music together. I aim to tailor my lessons to the students’ individual needs and interests to help them to achieve their goals. I consider my student’s age, learning style, and special needs while teaching. I utilize visual, aural, and kinesthetic approaches to develop skills and reinforce concepts. Successful music education means that students also learn life skills such as discipline, patience, and problem-solving strategies.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
