Frank G., known more popularly as Frankie G, is a Central Texas based session guitarist, producer, and songwriter. He has worked with a wide array of artists (regional and national) as guitarist, sometimes multi-instrumentalist and music director. Some of those artists include Lauren Calve, Cowboy Mouth, Classified Frequency, Richie Fields, Jimmie’s Chicken Shack, Junior Doctor and many more. Aside from being a sought after hired gun, Frank has also done demo videos for Premier Guitar magazine and EAST amplification just to name a few. An experienced instructor, Frankie has taught privately as well as part of the National Guitar Workshop, Dayjams and Music Director at School of Rock. Currently Frank is a part of the New Orleans based rock band Cowboy Mouth who tours all over the country, teaching online and taking on new studio sessions.
I started teaching and touring as a guitarist at 16. I have been extremely fortunate to have toured around the world with several artists, in front of huge crowds, played on tons of records and taught hundreds of students. Over the many years I've been doing this, I have seen my students passion grow for their instrument which only pushes and motivates me to grow as a teacher. I have seen students go from knowing absolutely nothing on their instrument to playing some of the biggest stages and festivals in the world.
Every students needs and ability to learn is unique to them. I find that no one method works universally, but my experience has helped me gained a wealth of knowledge and different ways to deliver them to the student. Our first lesson will kind of act as an interview to really get to know the student. I will have a student play, no matter the level so I can asses and start crafting a curriculum customized to their needs and wants. Everything will do will be deeply rooted in getting the fundamentals solid.
It's very important to me for students grow a passion for music. I celebrate every victory with them, no matter the size. Helping a student grow over time by setting really obtainable goals every week and setting short and long time goals. Constantly finding new ways to help inspire students to grow on their own as well as with me. Communication is key, if a student is feeling stuck on a lesson, I encourage them to reach out and I will customize a video for them to have a reference point anytime they need.
