Described by the American Record Guide as a pianist whose playing “was as smooth as velvet,” David has performed extensively throughout the United States. He has appeared in recital in New York’s Zankel Hall, Weill Recital Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and Museum of Modern Art. He has also performed at the Barns at Wolf Trap, the Chicago Cultural Center, the Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts, and the Dallas Museum of Art.
Born in Chapel Hill, NC, he attended the North Carolina School of the Arts during high school and earned a B.A. from Swarthmore College. He then received the Vladimir Horowitz Scholarship to study at the Juilliard School, where he obtained masters degrees in both solo and collaborative performance. David was the first-prize winner of the National Federation of Music Clubs’ Young Artist Auditions, which sponsored two years of recitals throughout the United States. He has been a guest artist at the Chautauqua, Brevard, Moab, Foothills, and Rockport music festivals, and his performances have been broadcast on radio stations WGBH-Boston, WFMT-Chicago, and WQXR-New York.
