Overview:
I absolutely love music! My love for music affects the way I teach others. I graduated with a Master of Music degree from the University of Kentucky in 2011 and have enjoyed a varied and rewarding music career since then. I've had the opportunity to perform with and for a variety of cultures. I like to bring these experiences into my music studio. Every student gets an individual plan that will meet their needs.
EXPERIENCE
I've been teaching music since I was a college student. For the last 4 years, I've been teaching private lessons and have discovered that each student brings a totally different and refreshing outlook to our music lessons. Because of this, I try to tailor each lesson to make sure that the student has fun, learns, and is able to ultimately perform. There's nothing like having that feeling of accomplishment when you are able to finally put into practice what you have taken the time to learn! Even the most shy and unsure student can find a way to put what they've learned into practice.
METHODS USED
For my piano students I typically use Alfred's Piano books for both children and adults. This series of books, I believe, does a great job of creating a starting point for younger and older students. Along with those books, I encourage the study of scales and other warm ups. For my voice students I partner with the student to find songs that the student will love to sing. My instruction for vocal technique is based on getting the student to have a free, beautiful sound through the use of breathing and vocalises (warmups).
LESSON STYLE
My goal is to help my students to be passionate about music! I encourage routine practice and together we come up with a realistic standard for progress. I want my students to enjoy their lessons and to look forward to the next time we meet. I want my students to believe that they are truly capable and that there is no limit to their progress once they fall in love with what they are doing: making music.

Miss Christine is an excellent instructor. She makes very good use of the lesson time and she skillfully redirects our daughter when she gets distracted.
