My name is Chris. I'm a guitar instructor who loves music and passing what I know onto others. I recently recieved my Bachelor of Arts in Guitar Performance from Lock Haven University. I have been giving lessons for 7 years to students of all skill levels. During my time at LHU I have performed with the LHU jazz ensemble as well as around the country with my own Jazz/Fusion band. I'm experienced in several styles of music.
I have been teaching for 7 years, starting when I was in high school. In college I taught students of all ages and skill levels. I've always tried to focus on what the student wants when teaching. I like to start students off on things they want to learn and expand from there. My main focus is that learning experience is fun and that the student is moving forward. I encourage any outside experience students can get, and will help them with any outside goals.
For all students I like to see what they want to learn and what they are capable of and start from there. I want lessons to be fun and a good learning experience. I always urge students to play live or sit in with bands because I think it is one of the fastest ways to become more comfortable with their instrument. I encourage students to learn a variety of styles, so they are comfortable in many settings.
I like to find out what level the students are at and give them work that they are capable of, but that also pushes their abilities. I want students to learn music they like and be interested in expanding their interests. My goal is that students reach their goals. I encourage students to ask questions and let me know their needs so I can help them get the results they want.
