I am a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. I am currently studying piano pedagogy in Bob Jones University, Greenville, SC. I have participated in many musical event such as opera, choir, piano performance and teaching young children piano lessons. I love classical music including piano, symphony, concerto and many others. I also play violin to expand my musical experience. I enjoy playing and listening to good music. I think everyone deserve good music education.
Daniel began his piano lessons when he was fourteen years old in 1999 and ever since then he keeps on practicing and playing piano music. Daniel earned his first bachelor’s degree of Engineering from Nanjing Forestry University, China in 2007 and worked eight years in paper industry as an Engineer for Finnish, Japanese and German companies. But in 2015 he found his passion in piano aroused and decided to further develop his piano and musical training. He first studied with Mrs. Ruth Bachorik in Bob Jones Memorial Bible College in the Philippines and later transferred in 2017 to Bob Jones University and studied with Dr. Peter Davis. He has been diligently practicing piano as well as learning music theory and music literature. Daniel recently graduated from BJU with a major in Music (Piano Pedagogy emphasis) and a minor in Biblical Studies with honor of cum laude. He has taught beginner to intermediate level piano students since 2015 both in China and in the United States. He has experience with children on the autism spectrum. Those students have successfully progressed in piano learning. Daniel has also conducted choirs in the churches, schools, and communities for over ten years. He is also a reservist in the US Navy and conducted the recruit choir for Boot Camp graduations.
For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Piano Adventure. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. I also help students with music theory and music literature to enhance their music experience and taste.
Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Learning music is something fun to discover the beauty of life.
