Overview:

I have been singing and playing instruments my entire life, and I am passionate about sharing this skill with others. I graduated from Lee University in May 2014 with a Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Music. During my time at Lee University, I have been a part of three ensembles- where I would sing many genres including classical, contemporary, and jazz. In January 2013, I had the opportunity to sing with my school's festival choir at the Presidential Inauguration.

EXPERIENCE

During my time at Lee University, I took private voice lessons, for the full eight semesters. I received classical training from two instructors- Mr. and Mrs. Frost. I have taken multiple classes which have trained me to teach vocal technique, including diction and vocal pedagogy. I received personal experience by teaching lessons to middle school students, and helping them participate in a recital showcase at the end of the school year. I enjoy coaching students to reach for their highest potential by bringing out their personal strengths. I want to make learning music a fun experience!

METHODS USED

For vocal students, I will generally begin with a book focussing on warm-ups and technique. Then I will let the student pick from a few selections that I have chosen that are appropriate for their voice type and range. We will work on these pieces for a few weeks in order for them to prepare for a small studio recital.

LESSON STYLE

I want to see my students enjoy the art of music! I try to accomplish this by learning more about each individual's learning style and by adapting my technique to help them learn in the best way possible. At the beginning of their session, I try to ask them what they hope to acheive through taking lessons, and we work from there. The goal is for me to find a piece of music that they like and for him or her to be able to perform it with their full effort!

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
