Overview:
Hey, What's Up!!!! My name is Carrell Andrews. I am a gospel recording artist, singer/songwriter, producer, and music teacher. I have been teaching music for 9 years. I graduated from the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Choral Magnet Program in 2014 and from there attended Southeastern University. In 2019, I graduated from Southeastern University with a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance and a Bachelor of Science in Church Music, with a minor in Audio Technology. Along my continuous professional musical journey, I’ve had various musical opportunities and experiences in my career that has shaped me into a successful musician and teacher— such as singing in professional choral choirs, serving as a Fine Arts and Worship and Arts and Music Director, a member of FMEA (Florida Music Educator's Association), professional BGV artist for various music projects/events, I've also had the privileged of being cast in various local musical theater and opera sing shows. Thank you for choosing me as your music teacher! I consider it a great privilege to be entrusted with sharing the gift of music with you and I look forward to helping you cultivate and refine your musical craft. Every student should know that discovering, developing, and training the voice or piano skills is an amazing and continuous journey. It's all about the process along the journey. As musicians whether novice or experienced in our craft, we all have a starting point. Therefore, no matter where you are in developing your musical craft as long as you have the desire to learn and apply, you'll have an opportunity to take your musical craft to the next level. As your piano teacher and/or voice teacher, it is my goal to teach you the beginning techniques of keyboard playing, the fundamentals of music theory, and proper vocal technique and styles to establish a foundation that can be built upon as you grow in your musicianship. I want to assure my students that studying in my studio is a safe place. It is my goal to create an educational environment for my students to exceed in their musical craft endeavors. As a music teacher, my teaching strategy is based on honesty, music education, and creativity. As each voice and student is different, the same is true for the learning style of each student and thus should be taught in a way that works best for them. As a teacher and lifetime student, I understand the importance of building healthy relationships with my students that aids student success and retention. Students desire to take music lessons for various reasons and I am committed to helping each one of my students fulfill their musical goals.
EXPERIENCE
My teaching definitely goes back to my college days, I have experience teaching in high school internships, working with with intermediate and advance choir. I am well experience with various genres of vocal styles such as classical, jazz, gospel, contemporary gospel, musical theater and R & B. I've been teaching piano and voice for about 4 years now. My main students have been beginners and intermediate. I am able to teach all levels of music theory, aural theory. It is my passion to help students attain realistic practice goals so they reach the level of musicianship they so desire.
METHODS USED

For beginning students, I usually have them begin in the basic all in one piano course. This lays the foundation of the piano, music theory, and basic level rhythm. For my advance students we may work in some of Palmer edition Bach or Beethoven series. I usually like to create various piano exercises that helps the student focus on speed, weight, and scales. As the student advances, they do have a choice in the material they'd like to work. That's where I like to incorporate the student creativity. I also implement my own lesson plans and courses that I have developed. I don't limit myself to one teaching method it truly depends on the student I'm teaching.
