Overview:

I love working with students and showing and watching their progression as they grow as young musicians. In 2013, I graduated from Benedict College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Trumpet Performance. Being a full time musician and a co-owner of a recording studio has been a great experience.

EXPERIENCE

My experience in teaching starts from me being an instructor for the chamber ensemble back in college. I became an instructor when the director came to me and asked if I was interested in becoming a music instructor. I always encouraged my students to practice everyday. By practicing every day then student will notice that they are progressing. If a student isn't progressing then I'm not doing my job. I encourage my students to enter any competition or recitals.

METHODS USED

For all students I began with breathing exercises, then buzzing in there mouthpiece. Then go into working from the Essential Elements book by Hal Leonard. After they have progressed and grasp the fundamentals, I usually began giving them solo repertoire. I usually ask my student what they are interested in and once the fundamentals are learned by the student I work with them on something they may want to do.

LESSON STYLE

I love my students progressing and working hard to develop a passion for music. Each student will progress at his or her own pace. I set goals for my students each lesson they come to me. Encouraging students and getting them to set there own goals they focus and then they work at it.
