Overview:
Hi! My name is Cailin and I’ve recenetly moved here from Santa Barbara, CA where I had my own successful voice studio. I’m passionate about teaching voice students healthy voice techniques, music theory and diving into exciting, fun and challenging repertoire. I graduated from AMDA College and Conservatory (LA) in February 2016 with my BFA in Musical Theatre. I started as a dancer when I was young and have been dancing for 20 years. From there my parents introduced me to musical theatre and I began to study voice and acting. I love to share my passion with my students! I am an advocate for their success.
EXPERIENCE
Shortly after graduating college, I was hired to be a musical theatre teacher at a local dance studio where I taught dance, voice and acting. After teaching with them, I had students reach out to me to further their vocal training. I have had regular voice students for the last two years, and even after moving to New York this past fall, several of my students from California are still with me by doing lessons over Skype! I have a very specific method with training that includes vocal health and understanding your vocal chords, music theory and knowing the difference between your head voice, chest voice and mixed voice. I’ve helped students land their dream roles in productions and get accepted to the school of their dreams. I would love to help you reach your goals and help create new ones!
METHODS USED
With my new beginning students, who don’t have much experience, we start with the fundementals - singing posture, breathing, basic warm ups and their importance, music theory, and simple repertoire. For my more intermediate, advanced students, I will check to see where your fundementals are, and help you blossom from there. My intermediate to advance students will continue to work on breathing, breath control, warm ups, music therory, and will be assigned to contrasting songs at a time. I find working on two contrasting songs helps grow your vocal range and therefore making your vocals strong for any piece that may present itself in the future.
LESSON STYLE
Nothing is more important to me than a student having fun and enjoying their lesson. Lessons are supposed to be rewarding and encouraging and I promise to bring that atmosphere to you every time I teach. From day one, we will set realistic goals in our binder and keep referring to them until they’ve been accomplished! Each student works at their own pace and I will never rush a student to get to their goals faster. The voice is a complicated and delicate instrument, and I know that achieving many goals in voice take time!

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
