Overview:

I am a passionate music instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 2004 I graduated from University of East Sarajevo, Music Academy with Bachelor in Arts degree in Accordion and Piano Performance. Performing all over the world has been one of the greater experiences of my life as musician and professor. I teach for over 17 years. I have been a judge in accordion competitions worldwide – most notably the 62nd Accordion Trophy Mondiale, World Accordion Championship, held in Spokane, WA and the 66th Coupe Mondiale World Accordion Championship, held in Victoria BC, Canada. I find it an honor to sit among some of my mentors and people who were judges when I competed.

EXPERIENCE

My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching at Public Music School at Serbia, 1999-2001 and I have been consistently teaching students at Music Schools and private Music Studio. I have over 12 years teaching experience in three Countries, U.S. Bosnia and Serbia. My students are encouraged to enter competitions and recitals, as well as work on composing their own original songs and they stay motivated to learn. I am always looking to bring on new students of all ages!

METHODS USED

For beginning students who are children, I typically start with basic elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo reperoire, appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, find the songs accordingly to the students ability and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. I teach Music Theory, Ear training and sight reading, as well.

LESSON STYLE

I am very excited and nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music. In my opinion it's very important that each student progresses at his own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging ace, placements helps fuel a students desire to progress and makes students eager to learn more. My students play the music they like! By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs!

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
