Hello! My name is Blake, and I'm a teacher, private instructor, and multi-instrumentalist. I've been a performing musician for 13 years; I've been in multiple bands and orchestras, as well as performing solo works for classical guitar and violin. I enjoy many, many different styles and types of music.
I've been teaching guitar for 7 years and violin for 5. I've been a music teacher in the public school system for the past 3 years.
My methods differ from student to student, and depends on a wide variety of factors, such as the student's age and learning goals - it's my job to find what works best for each individual.
I believe that students learn best "in the doing" - it's my goal to get students playing the instrument as soon as possible, and leave it to the student's descretion as to wether or not they would like to continue learning music theory and expanding their musical knowledge.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
