I am an experienced guitar, bass guitar, and trumpet teacher. I have played these instruments from a young age, and I have studied a diverse array of genres and musical styles. Let me know what you want to focus on and we will take it from there. I have toured with bands and played countless gigs, and I am excited to share my musical knowledge with you. I am also an experienced teacher and have taught students of all ages, grade levels, and levels of experience. I'll get you playing your favorite songs in no time!
I have worked for years with students in a variety of settings--from public schools to jails and prisons to community college. I am skilled at meeting students where they are at and designing a musical curriculum that fits their needs. All students need a combination of positive encouragement and rigorous practice. We will come up with a game-plan that fits your goals, whether those include learning a new instrument, improving your skill at an instrument you can already play, songwriting, or playing gigs.
I always start with getting to know the student and identifying his or her goals. What is the objective? From there, we will map out how we are going to get to that point. Most students' goal is to learn songs, so we will begin by identifying what those songs are. I will then figure out what skills are needed to play those songs, and we will start learning those skills at the most basic level possible, gradually increasing complexity until you have the ability to put those skills together and start rocking out!
I work with students at their own pace and tailor my teaching style to their needs. I want to work with you and make this the most fulfilling experience possible. Every student has his or her own learning style and preferences, and I want to figure out what those are so I can best help you achieve your musical goals. Of course, no teaching style is sufficient to teach music, because practice is key. So I will also help you devise practice strategies that are fun and engaging, so that you can continue progressing on your own time.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
