Overview:
I have had a strong passion for music for as long as I can remember. It brings me great joy to share and teach my passion with other aspiring musicians. I recently graduated from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia with a Master of Music in Jazz Studies degree. I have been very fortunate to tour with the band, ILL Doots, multiple times in addition to performing in various settings that constantly push my musical boundaries whether I'm playing drums, vibes, piano, or auxilliary percussion.
EXPERIENCE
I began teaching private lessons while I was in high school about six years ago and have continued teaching privately ever since. I really enjoy passing on information that I have learned throughout the years to other aspiring individuals. I continue to stress to my students the importance of listening to all types of music as well as having a regular practice schedule. I always try and make sure that the student is having fun and is working on material that they truly enjoy. Technical studies, improvising, and transcribing are other areas where I like to spend a great deal of lesson time developing.
METHODS USED
I plan every lesson differently based on the student. I first like to see what the students interests are as well as what goals they have in mind that they would like to achieve. For drummers and percussionists, I like to work out of the books, Stick Control and the Alfred method books because I believe that they develop the best technique. For mallet players, I like to work out of the Charlie Parker Omnibook as well as Bach's Partitas and Sonatas book. I also stress the importance of playing along to recordings and then going back and notating what was just played. Everyone is different so I believe that each lesson should reflect that.
LESSON STYLE
I love to see progress and excitement in my students. This shows that I am doing my job as a teacher! I always have a plan for the start and end of each lesson where we will discuss what we'll be doing during the lesson and then discuss what is to be practiced for the next lesson. I try to make lessons as fun as possible so I incorporate some games to make practice more exciting. My enjoyment for seeing the student progress is the driving force behind making each lesson as successful as possible.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
