Overview:

I am a traveling drummer who has had some very amazing opportunities in the last few years. I have been sharing my gift, performing and education around the united States, and even have had opportunities, to take my gift work wide. I am passionate about what I do, and I do not imagine myself doing anything else. I have had the pleasure of performing at venues such as the Barclays Center, Carnegie Hall, Google's Corporate Campus in San Fransisco, PASIC (Percussive Arts Society) in Indianapolis, Synergy Percussion annual Drum Camp in Florida, Brooklyn Museum, NJ Zoo, and many more. I have made TV appearances on the Last week tonight with John Oliver, I have been on several magazines, publications and websites, including Tom Tom Magazine, DRUM Magazine, Reverb.com, and Guitar Center Social Media. I have been playing drums for over 11+ years. I work as a professional drummer, based in the NYC Area.

EXPERIENCE

I have been a teacher since my senior year in high school. I was the section leader of all of the bands at Fort Hamilton High School, including Symphonic band, Orchestra, Jazz band, and Drum line. I would teach my section parts, and lead sectionals 3 times a week to make sure that everyone mastered their percussion parts. I have been teaching for over 4 years now, and have had my students achieve great things. I have prepared some of my more serious student for high school auditions, and they have made it into specialized arts schools such as Laguardia, and Fort Hamilton. I love to see my students excel, and get excited about their achievements, and to witness all of their practice and hard work get them to amazing places. I love to share my knowledge to my students. Sharing is caring, and we are brought on this planet to help others find their purpose, and make their lives a bit easier. So I like to Motivate, inspire, and encourage my students to fo the extra mile, and see what happens. I have been fortunate to share my gift all through out the Unites States, and I shall continue educating, and inspiring more drummers.

METHODS USED

I love to teach my student music that they listen to, and genuinely like. I like to involve the student in their drum learning experience. Through out my musical journey, I always found that it was beneficial to play to music and not just teach the students out of a book. Reading is important, and I provide a visual aid for students to be able to refer back to reading the music for the songs they choose to play. The best way to learn, even as a beginner, is choose a song you can relate to. I often times find students getting bored learning from a book. I tackle timing, technique, drum fills, grooves, reading, as we learn music the student chooses.

LESSON STYLE

I like to provide analogies outside of music to help them better grasp concepts. For example, to be able to work on your technique approaching the snare drum, you can think of dribbling a basket ball to get the proper relaxed motion you need to use approaching the drum. Meaning, you want to be fluid, and relaxed to get the best rebound out of the drum head. If I know that a student is into a specific activity, such as swimming, martial arts, soccer, school/ academics, I try to relate what we are learning to what they already know. Some times new terminology is hard for the student to understand if they do not have a reference point. I like to implement life lesson through drumming as well, such as "fake it till you make it" " try, try again" and try to build their confidence in themselves in drumming and life.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
