Overview:
I'm an experienced and passionate voice teacher and singer who believes everyone can sing! My faculty positions at the Manhattan School of Music Pre-College and Concordia College of Music involved preparing many teenagers and undergrad level singers for performing careers, and I have a solid reputation for my Westchester studio that is always full of singers of all ages. I began my own opera singing at the age of 13 in 1980 and I was immediately enrolled in the Juilliard School Preparatory Division, marking the youngest voice student in the history of the conservatory. I graduated as a full scholarship student from the Manhattan School of Music with a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music pending. I have performed extensively throughout Europe and the U.S., and in every major concert hall in NYC including Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, St. John the Divine and many other landmark locations. Some of my credits include: NY Philharmonic, Brooklyn Philharmonic, New Philharmonic of NJ, Czech Radio Orchestra, Vienna Chamber Orchestra and many others.
EXPERIENCE
My teaching experience has brought me students who have sung in many different arenas of life, ranging from National TV syndicates like America's Got Talent and Olympics Official commercials to simple, back-to-basics instruction for the layman who loves to sing and just wants to know how to do it better. I'm comfortable with all singing situations and I love to make lessons relaxed and fun. Having been on stage for 40 years, I've run into just about every problem a performer can run into. I have exercises for every vocal issue, and I believe in a comfortable amount of daily practice and focused work. I like to start out with music that's easy for students to sing in order for him or her to learn technique in a comfortable way, and I keep all kinds of music with me at home to have fun with and explore. Singing is great for your body and your mind!
METHODS USED
No one student is the same, and I create custom vocal exercises for each student. I will also choose music for students who don't have their own or would like ideas to set them in the right direction. I usually devote some time to teaching sight-reading in my lessons when someone is unsure of how to read music, and the rest of the time will be focused on the actual mechanics of vocal production and performing. My students often borrow my sheet music and copy it or purchase sheet music at various online music downloading websites.
LESSON STYLE
My goal is for all of my students to feel relaxed and free in their lessons. Singers use a lot of different emotions and they need to feel very much at home with their teacher in order to explore those moods. I teach taking into account the the student's age level and ability, and I'm very sensitive to time-constraints that most students have during their week. It's important to keep goals realistic, vocally safe, and fun. When a student needs support professionally, I am always eager to make suggestions, write recommendation letters, to call or e-mail powers-that-be, and to set up auditions as I can for the singer that's ready to do that.

She is wonderful! So knowledgeable and incredible at getting it across to you with visualizations and using the mirror to look in your mouth. My voice is improving so much and she's really inspiring me to work on my own. I'm also a voice teacher and feel so happy to pass along her knowledge to my students. I've already recommended her to two friends.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
