I'm a New York City based flutist that performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Symphony Space, Avery Fischer Hall, and Alice Tully Hall. Throughout my career, I have had the pleasure of working with renowned conductors such as Kurt Masur, Jaques Lacombe, George Manahan and Keith Lockhart. I have performed in numerous masterclasses for renowned flutists such as , Robert Langevin, William Bennet, Stefan Hoskuldsson, Keith Underwood, Marianne Gedigian and Stefanie Mortimore. I have participated in festivals such as the Orford Center for the Arts, Pierre Monteux, Oxford International Flute Summer School, and Brevard Music Center. I received my Masters of Music from Manhattan School of Music and my Bachelors of Music from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University.
EXPERIENCE
As a passionate teacher, I have presented numerous masterclasses and clinics for young musicians throughout the city and abroad. I was previously on the faculty of Camp MSM at Manhattan School of Music teaching flute lessons, theory classes and coaching chamber music. I also served as a Distance Learning Teaching Artist for MSM. I always encourage a regular practice routine and spend time learning and understanding what the student hopes to gain from the lessons so that they are most effective.
METHODS USED
My lessons are always tailored to the individual student's needs while engaging them in a dynamic exploration of music. I provide lessons to students and adults, some of whom are preparing for auditions, music festivals and NYSSMA while others are interested in studying for pleasure or leisure. Each lesson plan is designed to help the student progress in the manner that is best suited for them. For all students, ensuring the fundamentals of technique are solidified is a top priority for me and is always reviewed during lessons.
LESSON STYLE
It is my personal belief that arts education is essential to the growth and development of all students. I always bring my passion and enthusiasm into my lessons to help students fall in love with great music. I set realistic goals for students in each lesson and help them achieve them one step at a time. It is very important that students feel they are being challenged but are not set up for failure so it is important to make sure they are progressing and if there are challenges, we must work to identify them so we can move past them and continue to improve.
