ABOUT
Degrees / Training / Special Info:

AA, Musicians Institute, Drum Performance

Overview:

I am a genuine lover of music and self-expression who wants to show others that no matter how hard it may seem or whats going on that you can learn music and use it a tool to move forward in life. I've been playing the drum kit since the age of 5 and continued well into my adult life. I attended the Musicians Institute of Hollywood to learn more about playing and it has since then propelled my playing. I've played all over the Los Angeles area, as well as venturing out to Sacramento, San Diego and most recently will be playing a large festival. I'm all about pushing yourself as far as you can go and being yourself. I am incredibly grateful to be able to share what I know with others around the world.

EXPERIENCE

My teaching experience has always been for the student learning at least ONE new thing from during my lessons. I began teaching non officially to other drummers at various gigs across L.A. that liked what they saw during my performances. Because of this I met a lot of amazing individuals who are going to do great things. I realized that after a few years, I wanted to officially start teaching others because of the joy it gave me to see the light bulb turn on in someones head who felt as if they couldn't get it right. With drums it can seem impossible to do certain things but I found in my experience that there is always a way to help someone find what they need to have that AH HA moment. I always encourage students to take what I teach them and become colleagues so that I may learn something from them one day!

METHODS USED

For any level I like to check to see if they have a solid enough grasp on fundamentals. For drum kit users I like to only have the kick drum, snare and hi-hat available. If its a more experienced player, I like to have them play a simple groove just to see where they are and tailor how I teach them to most benefit where they would like to go in their journey. This is to ensure that the student has a strong foundation to take out into real world situations and get the gigs. No matter the age, my job is to suit the students need and starting with the basics of foundation is a must in my lesson plan. For adults and kids alike I like to try and keep it as carefree and fun as possible.

LESSON STYLE

The most important goal to me when teaching anyone of any level is to have them leave feeling like they've actually learned something. I feel as a teacher that the students wants and needs are paramount and should be treated as such. I like to work with whatever pace they're comfortable with and do my best to accommodate them with what they may want out of drumming. I like a laid back, welcome atmosphere with absolutely no judgement in said atmosphere and always be supportive of the student making progress in their endeavors.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
