Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

Every person is different as every student is different, so I make a point to cater to the individual and not get locked into an umbrella method of teaching. I make myself available to each student to ask questions and get the most information out of whatever subject we might be discussing/learning. As mentioned above, each student is motivated by something different and has different musical goals. I try to find ways to make lessons fun and interesting for each and every student. As such, my approach for a less serious student will be different from my approach for a more serious student. However, I make sure that all students have a goal that they are working towards; Perhaps, a piece that they hope to perform at contest or a concert, or mastering their scales and arpeggios in every key. I approach teaching in a way that encourages students to learn at a pace that's comfortable for them. Since the lessons are one -on-one, there is no need to keep up with a herd like you're in school. So I try to give a healthy balance of goals that are attainable only if the student practices and reviewing material from the past to see what has been retained while also showing how certain musical material is not like riding a bike... you will forget without some upkeep. After graduating, I moved to Southern California with the prospects of teaching and seeking other opportunities in music. I began teaching students in high school when there was a need that a student in the band needed some instruction. My second stint at teaching came in 2009 to 2012 when I taught Middle School and High school students from complete beginners to experienced players. I have over 20 years of teaching experience, and over 9 years teaching private clarinet and saxophone lessons in the Bay Area. Most of my gigs are classical clarinet, but I also play musicals as well. I have taught lessons and sectionals all over the Bat Area and have taught at CSU Stanislaus, and UC Santa Cruz.
