Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Matthew also performed in the 2019 NASA Region IV conference in Fayetteville, AR as well as the 2021 Region IV Online Conference hosted by the University of Texas at San Antonio. Matthew was a member of the critically acclaimed OSU Jazz Orchestra from 2018 to 2021, performing on tenor and baritone saxophonists as a soloist and ensemble member. Matthew has also performed in a variety of chamber ensembles, including the Paradigm Saxophone Octet, the N Pier Quartet, the Coral Quartet, the OSU Saxophone Ensemble, as well as numerous duos with students and faculty. Over the years, I've learned that every single student learns differently in addition to going at their own pace. Anyone at any age CAN learn music! I've found that presenting multiple solutions to varying problems gives the students the best chance to succeed and it's not that someone cannot learn, they just haven't been presented with an explanation they can understand and clicks for them. I encourage students to think critically about the music they are learning by asking questions about phrasing, dynamics, and musical style.
