My teaching experience dates back to my high school where I taught guitar classes to beginner students and did live translations English-Spanish in an International Jazz Seminar. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing a student develop a passion for music! It's important that each student progresses at their own pace. I encourage and push my students to learn, but also have an important balance between push from me, and drive from themselves. Students learn better when half of the push is from themselves rather than 100% from the teacher. I set realistic goals for my students, but also have them set their own goals so we can compare and come up with a plan together that works for both of us. Read More

For clarinet players, it is important to have correct hand position, embouchure, tonguing, and other fundamental knowledges. With students who are just beginning to learn clarinet, I start a Russian book called "Clarinet School" by S. Rozanov and "Clarinet Studies" by A. McCandless. For improvement technique, I use H. Klose's and C. Rose's etude books. When a student has enough experience, we study different types of repertoire in various genres such as classical, romantic, contemporary music. Read More
