Hello, Ive been teaching in Broward County since 2001. I have my BA and MA from FAU where I studied piano with Judith Burganger and voice with Susan Dorchin. Before that I studied piano with Harold Brown. Ive been trained in the area of performance and that is my specialty. However I also had overcome a medical issue using music so I am also quite proficient in music as medicine. My lessons can be catered to fit the style of music the student wishes to pursue, whether it be rock, jazz, heavy metal, classical, pop, etc. I work with students to find out what kind of music they are interested in pursuing and what their goals are. I focus on starting to play music quickly, and the student learns the theory and technique as we go. I first talk with my students to figure out their goals.  Once a reasonable goal has been agreed upon, I enthusiastically help them jump right into playing their instrument.  By breaking up portions of the lesson with review of simpler pieces, I encourage my students to play fun and simpler things as well, so that they do not beocme frustrated.  I always bring my positive attitude to each lesson, and have the students write down what to work on after each lesson. I am a very versatile and easy going instructor who loves working with music enthusiasts of all age and ranges; I believe you are never too young or old to start learning an instrument. I recently graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, and an Entrepreneurship minor.
