I began teaching drums and percussion around my senior year of high school (1999). For guitar/bass guitar, I began teaching sometime in 2009. I feel very fortunate regarding my teaching experiences. In the beginning and still today, I tend to spark a musical interest in people through performance -- and just as often -- conversation. I was also an instructor at the Stephen Collins Foster Music Camp, a counselor at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, and the Music Mentor of the Resident College of Arts in Humanities at MSU. I served as a woodwind specialist for marching bands for several years. I previously taught classes on music technology and composition at MSU and assisted in Early Childhood music classes at CMS.
