I have taught lessons on-and-off throughout my college career. This began about five years ago when a few of my friends communicated interest in learning various instruments. What started as casual pointers then developed into structured half-hour lessons each week. As a music therapist, I also have experience teaching adaptive lessons for those with developmental and intellectual disabilities. In middle school, I began performing and teaching music during the summers at Vacation Bible School for children ages 3-10. Throughout high school, as a member of a variety of bands, I performed at a wide array of venues around New England. During this time, I ventured into song writing and musical arrangement. I have taught a heavy schedule of students most of my adult life. For the years between 1995 and 2001 my touring schedule as a road musician prevented me from teaching. Since returning in '02 until covid shut us down I averaged 80 private students a week. I earned a bachelors degree in music composition and studied classical guitar in college. I taught private lessons off and on for several years before beginning teaching at a Music Studio in Columbus, Ohio. While there, I taught many guitar and ukulele lessons, and even started a ukulele club. While I was working at the studio teaching lessons at night, I was working on a masters degree in education.
