I first started teaching private guitar lessons while with Eberhardt Music Corporation. I taught students ranging from 7 to 25 for a period of one year. My next teaching experience consisted of teaching Class Guitar at Buerkle Middle School in the Mehlville School District. Next,I taught a guitar class of ten students while employed with the Inland Valley Performing Arts Center. I'm a very high-energy, passionate instructor who is devoted to spreading musical knowledge as far and wide as I can. I played bass with Berea College's Black Music Ensemble for about a year. I also helped to found their folk ensemble, playing guitar and singing with them for another year. Music is fun. The only reason to start learning an instrument is so you can have fun while learning, because you never stop learning. While I have certain processes while teaching, lessons will be tailored to the student. We will make sure to take note of progress so the student can see where they were when they started compared to what they can do now. I will use a lot of practical examples so the student can see the principles we are learning and practicing being used in a live situation, i.e. other professional musician performances on video and/or audio. I love music and I love teaching. I went to college to study Music and Theatre. After school, I toured the US and parts of the world for nine years in the vocal group Chapter 6. We were the youngest group ever to win the National Harmony Sweepstakes competition and the only group to ever win it and the International Championship of Collegiate A cappella.
