My experience began in college when I started teaching the neighbors's two little girls. I developed a passion and went on to teach more students of all ages and a variety of skill levels. While I believe in a solid technical foundation, I also believe that the student should be able to study the music that drew them to the flute in the first place. For my beginning students who are children, I may start them with Hal Leonards Essential Elements and/or the Rubank Method. Once they begin to learn the basics and and can grasp the fundamentals, I can begin to introduce solo pieces. For adults, I try to learn about what level the student is and what their interests are so that I can cater my lessons accordingly. I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves sharing my passion for music and inspiring students of all ages. In 2018 I graduated from the Manhattan School of School of music with a Masters degree and prior to that, I received a Bachelor of Music degree from Queens College. I have been lucky enough to perform in some of New York's Most prestigious classical music venues such as Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall along with some of its most well known pop venues such as the Bitter End and Rockwood Music Hall. Hello, I am currently finishing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Saxophone performance at the University of North Texas and am a teaching fellow there instructing undergraduate saxophone majors. I was originally accepted as a multiple woodwind major there as I have played flute and clarinet on cruise ships and jazz gigs as well as flute and clarinet classical works.
